Dead thread resurrection....
Just got the Verizon 4510 Mi-Fi today.
I am sitting here with it tethered to the USB port on my computer figuring out how this thing will work for me.
It's flashing a 3G signal for me as I type this.
Works just fine plugged into my computer.
A little bit of lag compared to the digital cable at home, but still plenty fast enough.
Next weekend I will have the external antenna to go with it.

I thought that too, you are to only use the USB on the new Verizon to update, not to charge it....
I have the 4G Mi Fi, I like it, the only thing is with it as is with any WI FI when moving is sometimes the signal cuts in and out, but that will improve in time..
Funny thing is, it worked better in the mountains of Virginia, then it does in the flat land of Ohio.... lol
When I do mange to find a 4g area, there is NO difference in speed from my cable internet at home to my Mi Fi , 4g is flippen fast !!!
I should look into the external antenna see i that helps at all ..Boogers Thanks this. -
I have the 4 g mifi and love it.I switched over once my Sprint contract was up.
-
I wasn't going to get it till I had a couple paychecks under my belt.
Found out you can add a mi-fi to your plan and it doesn't count toward your 5 lines on the plan.
You can also just bill the system to your plan and that puts it out to next month now before I have to plunk the change down for it.
The 4510 only cost $20. I also got the external antenna for it for another $30. If I need it, I'll have it.
Monday I leave for my first OTR load in like 18 years. We started doing the route planning and the fiance said to go and get it today while I was in town before I left.
Glad I did.Southpaw7391 Thanks this. -
why would anyone go with verizon or any of those carriers when you could go w/ sprint, get an extra phone and use it to tether, tethering is 15$/mo...
compared to 45/mo...
youll save alot of money. ive saved thousands in the 6 yrs ive been doing it, and its truly unlimited, ive used 20 gb in a month, never a penny extra. even torrenting. -
Easy.
Maybe they want service.Motownfire, Southpaw7391, sal and 1 other person Thank this. -
My sprint phone contract is up in June and im dropping them.Verizon has towers about everywhere,NOT SPRINT.Verizon is open on Sundays,NOT SPRINT.When you're in a trk and need to go to a Sprint store they're not easy to find but many Verizons are located inside malls.

i have a verizon mifi and mine is unlimited

I use the Verizon MIFI and it works pretty good except in some hillbilly parts of the country where they don't even know what a radio wave is like in VA, PA, and MS I lag a lot in those states. Expect it to lag out for about five minutes every hour too.
