You've gotta cut that team pay down ... That's your. Killer because that truck don't stop .. Hence your largest cost especially if they run empty fuel is killing you
37% is high
They need to be closer to 25-28%
The fuel on that truck has to kill you on any empty miles As does any truck but with that wage at 37% even more so -
Ill have to agree with the guys on what they're telling you. If it comes down to you getting $1.4 amileplus taking off expenses it leaves you with very little to no profit. Id recommend getting your own authority and booking your own loads. From what I've heard 2$/mile is what you need to aim for to see profit. Also in my opinion your team drivers are being paid too much, especially since its your trucks and your getting reletively less $pm...just my 2 cents

That trailer lease @130.00 and u do all maint is also hurting you
You could actually do better as the swift driver said by leaseing on and eliminating that and possibly gaining a fuel discount and lower insurance rates and also eliminate the cargo ins cause the carrier would handle that end
Get stronger $$$ in a year or so then get your authority and buy a few of your own trailers ... -
Im not sure that ill fine a team to work for even 30%.
That means if they gross $6000 in a week they will only get $800 per driver. -
30% would be 900.00 per driver at 6000 gross
-
If you got them at 30% that saves you roughly 420.00 a week based on your 6000 gross numbers 1680.00 a month ..
Southpaw7391 Thanks this. -
Yes but they charges the driver $100 per week for workers comp. i hate it
-
yes $420.00 would be great to keep the truck in perfect oparation but, again do you guys think Ill be able to find drivers?
-
Good catch; looked odd to me when I looked at it..I still think 30% would be too high though, no? Especially if he's looking for a profit
