also, i need a pep talk... since that last abusive relationship me and 711 had with the smoke, i'm just nervous as hell to idle this thing for an Extended period of time. Not to mention the 680 idle rpm doesn't make me feel any comfortable, can someone tell me it's going to be alright so i don't have to sweat bullets and chill comfortably??

What would a normal week be like for a driver who lives along highway 20 in Iowa. Would living in this area be better for getting home? Are there alot of west coast runs?

The Left Coast runs usually leave out on Thursday or Friday so if being home on the weekend is a priority then that could be a problem. As far as frequency for those go, we usually have an average of 5 -6 a week heading out there. The Highway 20 corridor is a main lane for us, and honestly it would work out well for you if you'd be willing to bounce between Iowa & Chicago all week since a lot of our guys run 20 all the way through. If you don't want to go to Jersey, NYC or Boston don't take the load. Our dispatchers are actually adults and don't play those childish games by making you sit because they're pouting since you wouldn't take a load. 9 times out of 10 you'll have multiple options for loads to pull.

    Milkman69 Thanks this.

Thanks Husker. If anybody has more information about a typical week for an Iowa driver it woud be a great help. Just trying to do some good research. I know some drivers will say call the company for more information but I want to hear it straight from the people who do this week in and week out.

Sitting at good old c&s in Brattleboro,VT trying to get the last stop of this ice cream load delivered.I usually have decent luck with these loads but this one has been lots of trouble. Couldn't keep the temp in the good range, finally noticed that they didn't plug the drainage holes at the shipper and yesterday got stuck with 60 3 gallon containers of out of date product that I got to drag all over pitttsfield,ma looking for someone to take off my hands. Think it's going to be awhile before I run one of these again...lol. Enough of my whining hope everyone has a good weekend.

He got it from Le Mars, IA, I imagine. He's definitely not east coast. Mushroom's usually found between the Missouri river and the Pacific ocean.
