Hi Trucking Family,
We hired Best Way to move our entire household possessions (2500 sq foot home) -- from Virginia to Vermont. Best Way apparently contracted with Red Lion to move our things. Police are not being helpful and we are at a loss as to how to get traction on this dire issue.
Driver and truck last seen at Michael's Moving & Storage in Boston, MA, on Thursday, 3/15, @ 2:00.
We are looking for a 53' trailer. The cab is red. The trailer has large BUDD Van Lines on it.
Florida tag: Z0657R
It is our belief the driver has ditched either the trailer or the trailer & cab anywhere in the MASS, Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York (or beyond) area.
How do get the word out to truckers to be kind enough to keep their eyes open for us? Without willing police departments, we are desperate to find an avenue to locate our possessions...
Thoughts please? I'd be most grateful for any and all input...We are very upset.

The goods may be crated in a warehouse . Movers rarely move long distance moves from one household from one location to the next . They are taken to a warehouse , unloaded , crated , then put on another trailer with other crates from other households . They are then taken to another warehouse , uncrated , put on another truck , and delivered .
It is unlikely your belongings are on the trailer you identified .
I have to ask if you shopped for the cheapest rate when picking a mover . You get the level of service you pay for . -
2500 sq ft , would stay on the truc unless it was not deliverable, or shipper refused to pay.
Budd is not a fly by night carrier. Put the preasures on them. HHG carriers are still a regulated industry. Contact the FEDS.

File a Complaint with the FMCSA:
http://nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov/hc_disclaimer1.asp?public=open -
File on their bond.

Maybe the truck got put OOS on some scale somewhere along the way.

Sometimes the Better Business Bureau can help. File a report and hope.

They probaly dont know the meaning.. OOS>> OUT OF SERVICE Meaning the are shut down for a period of time and cant move the truck or trailer
-
That's furniture from a 2500 square foot home , not 2500 square feet of furniture .
The move has involved 4 or more agencies.
The contract was signed with Best Way and the complaint should be filed against them , not Budd .Last edited: Mar 19, 2012
