Last night I parked at the Love's in Jackson, TN. I got a spot at the end of the row, yeah I know not the best but beggars can't be choosers.

Anyways at about 00:30CDT I was shaken awake by my truck rocking. I got up to see a truck pulling away to my right but since I'm blind as a bat without my glasses, all I saw was a big blur. Anyways, I put on my glasses, shorts and slippers and get out to investigate. I walked around the front, saw no damage and walked around the back. On the ground under the right corner of my trailer was a pile of metal shavings. The guys trailer clipped the thick metal rim around the right taillamps and shaved off a good portion of his trailer aluminum. No damage was done to my trailer, the only clue any contact was made was the metal shavings on the ground and the rub point on my trailer which was now scraped clean of oxidation.

I called my boss and took a few pics with my phone for CYA purposes since my trailer is a lease trailer.

There's no way this guy didn't know he hit me but the only damage was to his trailer. If he doesn't own it, I hope he has a good explanation for the boss!:biggrin_25523:

He will probably drop the trailer someplace and pick up another one. By the time someone else picks it up?? It'll have been a day or two or longer, giving plenty of time for him to say, "hey, it was ok when I dropped it off at...."

Rub rail damage if he is lucky, a gash in the panels if he is not.
And a dollar will get you donuts, he knows he did it too.

According to the FMCSA and Ann Ferro you are still at fault. (Meant as a derision to our wonderful government, not the op.)

it was a lucky angle. I think any more harder and it might have hit the door hinges. I wouldn't have even been mad at the guy, no damage, no problem. But after my experience at the TA in Prescott, AR I can understand being scared. In the end just take it like a man!
