I don't know about teams, but my husbands average weekly miles is 2400-2800 for solo.
We love it here at Heartland, they have treated us very well!

Yes we are, and very proud to give heartland credit where credit is due. We put a 5 year plan into effect, to be debt free at the end, and we were able to accomplish that on Kaptkirks solo income from Heartland. He's been with them 6 years and it's so nice to be able to put the money we were using to pay bills, towards an early retirement.

Thanks for all the good input on Heartland. It seems to have lot less driver complaints than other big carriers. I see where milage is a big complaint leaving me with a question. I am sure that the ones with the greater milage are the ones willing to do there jobs with no complaints, but is it they have also learned a way to make the e logs work in their favor.? I have never done elogs but seems like it could hinder milage and 14 unless a way .... Last company was paper logs and around 3600 week, but not without logging at shippers as off duty and a few other adjustments here and there. etc . That being said left last company due to the fact they are the kind of company that the dot looks at and causes so much grief for every other out there.

You can get the really higher miles at Heartland if you really want to work for it, but think about this - you dont really need to. Heartland has a higher pay model to compensate drivers for the issues that hinder your miles or 14 hour, etc. 2200 miles at Heartland at 48 cents = $1056, and it takes 3300 miles at another company paying 32 cents to = $1056. The regional guys I've seen average from 2000-2200 miles, and system is 2200-2500 but there are some of us that do better. Heartland's pay rate is built to make up for any shorter mile loads or some sitting time. It depends on how you like to run. If you don't mind running 2200 miles and making over $1000 a week and getting home most weekends then you can do this easy at Heartland. As system I've seen more than 2200 miles a week but the hometime is more like every other week on system. If you think you just have to run over 3000 miles a week no matter what you're getting paid for them, then Heartland not a good fit. But that is not a money decision at that point.

So that's the money side of things. But there is so much more that I like about Heartland than just the money. They take #### good care of their equipment and you won't see a better CSA rating in the business. I will retire there if I have my way.

If I remember correctly, Kaptkirk said the road test was pretty basic, they don't hire without at least 1 year OTR, and then there is all the "class" time which consist of policy, log training(e-logs now) dot physical etc...
If you don't mind being out at least 2 weeks, the money is better in system.

You need to talk to a recruiter, the starting pay varies by, experience, if you drive system or regional, and what terminal you drive out of. Kaptkirk use to drive regional out of Jax, he liked the loads out to the north east, made it easier to get miles for the week, and you get extra pay for that area. They didn't make him run them, he choose to.
He also choose to switch to system driver, so that he could make more money per mile and get better miles.
I really think it depends on where you are in your driving career, that determines how you want to run, system or regional?
