At a state-sponsored school in AL and for 8 weeks, 56 classroom and 280 road hours, their fee is $1,500 (significantly lower than private schools, because of the reimbursement they get from the state). I also researched and found two different options to have it paid for me through my local employment office.
How much for truck driving school? Cash or financed?

I took a student loan and received half back upon graduation.
Original price $5,450 for three weeks (120 hours). First test fee included. -
Thanks for your reply

try searching for "international truck driving schools" on yahoo. seems like they work with your local government (texas workforce commission) to provide tuition to that place. click on "accreditation & approval" on the website to see a list. seems like a reputable place. just found another..."north texas institute for career development" it's run by Goodwill Industries (charity organization). good luck

$854 for 8 weeks/380 hrs and was hired before I graduated at a better than average company
Multiple thousands of dollars for 3-4 weeks is just ridiculousDoublecutter Thanks this. -
Yes it is ridiculous, but not everyone has a publicly funded school in their backyard. There's an 8 week program in Orlando run by the county. It's only $2200. New classes begin roughly every 5 weeks or so. I had to pay $4999 to TDI because I couldn't wait for the next class to start.

Not to mention most classes are booked out 4/5 months at most public schools.
Besides, with the way the government is going, publicly funded options will soon be a thing of the past. -
The state of indiana is basically out of funds.
The only place is SAGE. In Muncie, they haven't seen any funds in months.
