JJD, Channel Jumper doesn't ever say anything that is actually on topic. He likes to drag each and every CB topic way off course.
Why he was not banned instead of AB7IF is beyond me.
monkey made or predator or wilson 2000?

Banning AB7IF was the biggest mistake ever made. NO one on this forum comes close to his knowledge. At least no one that posts anyway...........
rabbiporkchop and mike5511 Thank this. -
Yes I know...just can't figure out exactly what he's trying to accomplish...

Guys
Horizontal loading coils don't make it a spyral array ...
My eyes are bad enough ..... But even with 20/700 eyesight in my left one and about 20/100 in the right after the first round of surgery this makes no sence to me .....
Maybe after the cateract surgery it might ...
Then again maybe not

I guess, because it is a loaded antenna with a loading coil, then it is the same as a sat. antenna.
What this all has to do with the Monkey made, Predator and the wilson 2000, I have no clue.
All I can say is that my wilson 2000 on in the center of the roof of my pickup on a magnetic base, works just fine for me. It will get me over 15 miles with a stock 4 watt radio even in hills etc.
I have a wilson 5000 on the big truck and it does just fine also but I am pushing a tad bit more power and 30 miles is a breeze.
I have not had the time to purchase a predator or monkey made. I was going to order up the predator antenna, could not decide on which one, but know am thinking about seriously getting out of trucking which means I won't really have a need for much CB stuff anymore since I won't be using one every day. -
What I have found is length of the antenna makes ther diffrence ....
A short antenna does not work as well as one twice as long ....Channel Jumper Thanks this. -
The circular polarization is for a global approach(skip).
Channel Jumper Thanks this. -
The dimensions of the helix are determined by the wavelength λ of the radio waves used, which depends on the frequency. In axial-mode operation, the spacing between the coils should be approximately one-quarter of the wavelength (λ/4), and the diameter of the coils should be approximately the wavelength divided by pi (λ/π
. The length of the coil determines how directional the antenna will be as well as its gain; longer antennas will be more sensitive in the direction in which they point.

Is that why you bought one? You just needed a "Gimmick Antenna?"Mad Dog 20/20 Thanks this.
