Have you ever heard someone say.."I love my job because every day is different?" Today is different... I am hauling a truckload of Snausages...and Meow Mix....yesterday it was recycled beer bottles for Sam Adams. A real cog in the gears of society! — at I-80 Rest Area.

Markus I am glad to see things are going so much smoother for you! I will be in week two of school starting Monday! Really excited about what lies ahead! God has shown himself to me in the midst of such a life changing experience. I still hope to shake your hand one day my friend! See you on the road!

Yes..things are smoother...it's sort of like spring....it's hard to believe that the earth will once again be warm and green....but it always happens. Learning to drive an 18 wheeler seemed impossible....but it happens.

Markus your story is inspiring.I to am imbarking on a new career in trucking.I'm 51, been in drywall business for 32 yrs. I'm sure I don't have to tell you about how bad housing is. Work for yourself, get your own authority that way you have the freedom to haul for who ever you want to haul for. Good luck!

Markus, your a man with integrity and honesty. I'm 60 years old and for men like us and a lot of other guys on your thread that have the same attributes it's just the way we were brought up I think. Being humble about our age, willing to learn something from the beginning makes us who we are. Wannabe GOOD truckers! Not just wannabe truckers.
I trained OTR with with another company for a month but it didn't work out. I just signed up with Schneider (tanker) and will be headed for Pittsburgh, PA April, 4th to start training. I do have an advantage since I've been through it before but still want to learn as much as I can. Your posts' are a huge help to all of us (wannabe whatever's) so please, keep it up.
As for your Christian radio gig, I think that in time, I hope, technology will allow someone like you to be able to do short but essential broadcasts from your truck. God knows, and I believe it's a fact that truckers need to be on the same page with other truckers and God because really, no one else is.
Thank you Markus, God Bless you and keep you safe. And that goes for all you other guys too.docholaday and jeff1971 Thank this. -
