Hey i have an 07' 670 isx and i did the dumbest thing ever today. I ran out gas 0.5 miles away from truck stop. I added 8 gallons made it to the truck stop top it off and went to speedco next door and had them change the fuel filter. My truck died 3 times before i made it to the truck stop. After filter change i was fine never shut down again. So my question, since this is the firs time it happened to me, should i be worried about anything else going bad???
    Thanks

You will probably be ok. You had air in the lines after running out of fuel...however, you may have sucked up some trash from the bottom of the tanks....might want to change the filter a little sooner than normal just to be safe.

I must admit that was the first thing that came to mind with me as well.

    You should be ok though.

have you ever heard a diesel run on gas? a driver back in the early 80's used to stop at this little ma and pa stop. full service too. filled him up and away he went. the truck was a popin and rapin but was running like a raped ape. by the time he got home about 50 miles. that was it cooked.

Somehow truckers manage to run out of fuel on a daily basis. Never had any problems getting them started back up. For training purposes engines run out of fuel. Never had any problems with them. Im the shop engines have been run out of fuel for various tests/problems/reasons and never had any problems.

I agree with TIMEWEASEL. Air and diesel fuel systems do not agree. Once it gets worked out itll be fine.
