Does the cold effect my cb radio in any way?

Shure does .......
I worked in military defecse electronics engereering and QC back 30 years ago ( shake and bake ) and we woulld cycle the temp from -40 to +180 F and watch to see if anything failed .

CB and HAM radios are not tested this way but you can bet very cold or very hot will reck havic ...

If it did not come back check for a cold solder joint or simple loose wires before junking it ....

 

NO they are rated over a range of temperatures such as 0 - 160 deg F
VERY CHEAP parts drift over that range however any part worth a darn will recover at normal temps and work like nothing happened ...

High end parts like the old NOPO caps were stable and widelly sed in VFO/VCO's .... Carbon resisrors would soke up mosture and change value the new carbon film ones are much better .....Elect-cap dry out with age and mica ones the silver migrates but there are found in very old radios not many newre ones ...

 

The cold really should have not hurt it....there are tons of them left out in the winter. Shocking it from cold to hot could cause some problems because of condensation. But the cold itself wouldn't ruin anything.

 

I keep all my spare back-up CB Radios in the freezer so they will stay fresh longer....

Shock DOES damage radios BUT it has to be very cold ..... Moisture is a real problem if the temp changes enough and could finsh a radio off ....

In MIL testing ( -40 - + 180 F ) AKA SHAKE AND BAKE we always had some drop outs even with high end parts.

the cold might have caused a loose connection somewhere due to contraction...i.e heat expands, cold contracts.
