First day on, have been reading this for awhile and have learned alot. I joined because I like it and my boyfriend is looking for work out in North Dakota, ( I have been looking for work for him!) Any help would be appreciated. Have spent hours looking at alot of different trucking companies out there. He has 17 years experience with all endorcements. So far Wasatch and Powerfuels looked good. He does want a week off to come back home. Thanks for any ideas.

I was looking into NoDak as well.

Until I started to realize in the end game, I'd make as much running regional in a nice truck on the interstate and be home more if not just as much.

I found a company 17 miles from the house that has me home regularly on the weekends.

McKimm's in Hutchinson MN. Picture of the equipment in my profile.

Thanks for the welcomes. And If I find myself in the area I will look for Flo's for breadfast! Mndriver, glad you found a job close to home. My brother drives for Halver out of the Cities. We came up with a three to five year plan, drive all the hours for the money and head to Florida after that. We have a house here and it's not a good time to sell even if it would right now. I see you are retired Military, was an MP back in the 80's.

Retired as an MP in 2007 from the guard. Last 4 years. Spent 14 years as a Bradley Mechanic in Minnesota.

If you are serious about wanting to drive, I started to look into NoDak too for work in Feb.

I opted for this as it's still close to $1000 per week to start and goes up. Plus I am driving nice equipment and not having to fight harsh work conditions.

By the time I would have paid for housing/travel trailer and coming home for parenting time with my kids, working here made much more sense than going to Nodak oilfields.
