Wife got me a KIndle Fire for Christmas with a one year Netflix package. It's great when I am (seldom) at home with our wifi and DSL. On the road I have always tethered my laptop to my Blackberry, with an older unlimited Verizon package. Can't get hooked up that way with the Kindle, so I went back to buying a month of Wifi from the truckstop, and all of those aggrevations, signal problems slow speeds etc. Thinking about upgrading my phone to a hotspot model, but don't think Verizon will let me keep my unlimited package with a new phone/contract.
everyone watchin netflix?

Going threw a phone via a HML cable to the TV is the only route I have discovered for widespread high use coverage. With data cards limiting to redicuously low levels. 5gig? what the hell does that get you? Not a whole lot.
However if all you are looking for is netflix and baseball. You might consider looking into Satillite. While it will not work if you want to play online games it works just fine for streaming. -
I know its a lot to ask. but could you put some quick notes on how to download the movies. I can watch them on laptop, But I have yet found a way to save them to watch later. thanks either way.Last edited by a moderator: Apr 1, 2012

There are few different programs that work but I use DVDFab, you can search and find it. You do need to be fairly adept with basic computer skills. If you are, it is pretty easy to start burning right away. There are different options, including burning an ISO image to your hard drive. That is the option you want to choose.
In order to play ISO files, you will need another program but it is free. It is called VLC Media player. Once you have that, you open it, choose the ISO file from your DVDFab folder and hit play.
Or you could burn to blank DVD's. You would not choose ISO for that. -
now i am thinking downloading netflix onto the computer and paying the truckstop fee for wifi to stream, you know if i pay ta a year's wifi rent i wont use it for a month...........sigh

Hate to break it to you, but usually any truckstop wi-fi is not stable enough for reliable good streaming. Flying J has the best, but even there, the signal tends to spike and dip depending on where you are parked. And you're liable to have a backing accident on some night when you've just got to see your team and try to get into spot that is a little too tight.DoneYourWay Thanks this.

All true also the smaller ones usually don't have anything for a signal in the back.

JustinTV is good for streaming sports, but I don't know how much data is transferred.

Not pertinent to Netflix, but I'm in the process of downloading a bunch of movies to my laptop to watch later.
