Does the cold effect my cb radio in any way?

    Cold like heat can kill a radio EVEN the MIL-SPEC stuff has failures ....

    Bad solder joints are high on the list however there are hard failures too ... Some LCD displays freez and don't come back ...

    As an example, the Cobra 29 will operate from -22°F to 122°F. It will most likely survive temperatures colder than -22°, but it probably won't work until it warms up again. Sounds like something other than the cold got it, maybe a voltage spike when you connected jumper cables with the radio turned on? A shop can tell you if the internal protection fuse popped.
