You know, you are absolutely right!
When I mentioned the people you could trust and believe over there I failed to mention two others...One is Big Bob, the owner. He usally doesn't involve himself in "family disputes" within the company but when he does get involved and grunts and roar, he does get things done...one way or another. The other is Rod who is in charge of the shop. I have been back and fourth to Rock 3 times and only on this last trip back did I find out that Rod was one of Bob's kids. He has never acted like a "boss" and has always been more than fair. We did talk the other day, as I have always considered him as a friend and he told me, that with these posting and all that he didn't think I was fair in return. he explained that in one sense I was right about the advances. They do not like giving them. He said there is added exspenses, a lot of paperwork, and a lot of other hidden things that drivers do not understand. No they do not like giving advances but, if you can not manage your money and you have to have the advance they will give it to you but , in all fairness, they have to pass on the cost incurred but they will not leave you out there Broke!
Even tho they say there is "NO FORCED DISPATCH"...He went on to explain that when they are stuck with a certain load and you are the only truck available, you have to be willing to give a little which was the circumstances surrounding my departure. They were stuck and I wasn't willing to budge.
Like I said, I always considered Rod as a friend and he was pissed when we talked. He said I was very unfair to him and the company and I owe them a apology...I guess I do as I was upset and felt betrayed by someone I thought I was bustin my butt for. Rock is not a huge Company. You are more like a big family and there will always be family disputes. No company is perfect nor are Drivers and everybody has quirks that you can either work with or leave. I have left for good this time but Rod also asked me to point out, if this is such a bad company, why did I keep going back three times!!
This is Crazy Dave and in all fairness to Rock and to my fellow Drivers, I felt that all of this needed to be said espically to those of you that live near Plum Tree and would like to get home on the week-ends.
Peace-Out......Keep The Rubber Side Down !!!

So do we have this figured out now?

Interesting. Seen this thread was revived, and wondered why. My last guess would have been " OP feels he was wrong on previous posts, and wanted to set the record straight." Don't see much of that. Kudos to you, and good luck driver.
Treefork Thanks this. -
Yeah, course had he mentioned he had returned to the company 3 times, we probably could have just ignored this all anyway.

I worked for Rock Leasing in 2009 before they lost their PrePass and IPass and it is true they did underpay miles and lie about dispatch communications. My truck was sabotaged and the drive was damaged and when dispatch was notified I was directed to continue route. I completed the 2,400 mile round trip to Dallas safely but the engine was ruined and safety claimed they never authorized the run to continue. I quit because I refuse to work for liars.
