It's almost over. The first quarter of 2012 is almost done. What a ride! We've had a very productive winter season. Now it's time for a re-boot. Lots of washing, fixing, polishing and planning for this summer's work. A month or two to find time to get everything done and hopefully still have some time to relax.
As usual there is a big question mark over this summer. Will it be as busy as last year? Will the rain hold us back? Or will it be dry and smokey from all the forest fires? We will have to wait and see. Meanwhile, I know there a few beer cans out there with my name on them.![]()

Hi OPT
I also follow your page at fb - always nice to see the pics.
Is that the usual routine, that you finish up about this time of year and have a few months off?
Thanks

Yup been in the shop the last little while polishing trucks. Shiny trucks are highly overrated when it comes to stainless bulk trailers that only get polished in the spring and are covered in cement.

I've been busy for the past 2 weeks.
I'm up by Anzac right pulling coil strings.
I'm sure there is an end in sight, but there is a fresh 4 inches of snow up here. -
I see Trican etc... are still posting jobs, do you think breakup will have a big slowdown? I just got my class 1 so a newbie, but want to get into O/O hauling water. I now need to get in and get some miles first. I think maybe working for Trican or such rig/pump companies may not give me the tanker miles i need. comments please. I need to get my foot in the door and get trained on tanker. thanks

My division does not deal with water we are a cement bulk hauler so deals with dry powder cement. We only drive about 20% of the time working so your not going to get high miles although you will get off highwAy experience we use blowers not pumps to unload our cement.

I know that well, I used to unload flour the same way, although I only drove in the yard back then, now I am licensed for the road and wanna get to work, so maybe the off highway itself would be good. I am thinking fsj or ft nelson.
