But JBS is still two older companies join together to form one. That is why in your cab book for the trucks you have a copy of a memo explaining the name change for when DOT did the inspections. So that why JBS is not new or can be considered new. Point being growing pains if that is what you want to call it. It is the ones in the office making the changes ruining the company. If they knew how to run the company properly then they would know how to retain drivers.

ok dainiel i will give you that. there are several chiefs upstairs that need to be let go. but until someone opens their eyes i just keep driving.

Greetings, new to this forum, getting ready to head off to Orientation at Greeley for JBS. My wife is currently with a trainer, and has 3 weeks left, we are looking forward to teaming together. Because of all the chatter on here about the sleep apnea testing, I was proactive and went ahead and got all my testing done before I chose to come over to JBS. It did take alot of work to get it all done, but I must say that I'm glad that I did it! It has improved my sleep, rest and daytime work production. This is coming to a "trucking company" near you. I myself have know that I needed this done for the last five years, and was not willing to admit that I had it, I procrastinated and my wife finally convinced me to go and have it tested.
Sleep fatigue is one of the top accident reports, and it is not only affecting drivers, but innocent bystanders. At my current drive job, there are about 10 drivers that are on the cpap machines, and they all swear that it has majorely changed their lives. I know this is a sore subject with some of you, but it really is a life saving machine. One last thing, Make SURE that you have all your medical records in order, and current. This is a big thing at JBS especially workmans comp claims.Jack&Jill Logistics Thanks this. -

I've been in the trucking industry for the last 40 years, which, most of it has been reefer, hauling meat, produce, dairy products. It's very seasonal work, has always been. From Jan, to around May, things slow down, so typically, you don't get as many miles or hours per week as you do the rest of the time of the year. I've worked for several different companies and for the most part, someone always has something to complain about with the company. My current company, has slowed down tremendously, and we are all worried about being let go any day. Management is always looking for ways to fire us!
I've come to the conclusion, that if I do my part, (although sometimes it's quite frustrating) and make sure that I do a good job, as in following the rules, making sure that I'm accountable for being a safe and respectful employee, that in the long run, I will be sucessful! Unfortunately, companies are not in the business to make me rich, but, to make their company profitable. If I do my job well, then I will also be profitable.
Working for a company is like a marriage, it takes work, and communication, (which sometimes they both go deaf!) so for all the complainers out there, maybe that company isn't a fit for you. We can find fault in anything and everything if we want to, with that being said, my wife and I are going into this with our eyes wide open, looking to make the best out of every situation that we might find ourselves in. Be it good or bad. We know that all good things come with time and hard work, we know that this is a fairly new company and with this comes "growing pains" We are going to give it our best shot! We will let ya know how it going for us as we go along! Oh, and we are not going to be wearing "rose colored glasses" we know theres alot of "Cow Poo" out there, but we are going to try to avoid stepping in it!

I talked to one driver in Worthington, MN who said he doesn't follow none of the rules he gets 6mpg. He fuels where he pleases. He uses off duty driving without approval, and curses dispatchers daily telling them they work for him. Then he wondered why he set in Baton Rouge for 3 days. Even told me he was getting like 9,000 miles a pay period solo and mad because it dropped off.
A trucking company will go broke trying to please everybody. There's not a company out here where everybody is happy. Home time is always on time. Treat you like family etc. Pay is always correct. We are humans and we make mistakes. Stop looking back and continue to look forward. What's in the past is in the past. You guys have a great day.thecleaninglady and Jarhed1964 Thank this.
