There are tons of opinions on whether to ground to the frame or straight to the battery.
Lets hear yours................
I have tried both. Seem to have more "noise" with it connected to battery.
Connex 4300/300 and 2970 N2

I prefer both radio leads straight to the battery. Not sure why there would be less noise by going to frame...since the frame is most always grounded from the neg. on the battery.

CJ, That's the kind of post you need to make! You can keep the part about DIY. Doesn't that feel better?

There two types of ground. An electrical ground and an RF ground. The electrical ground (the black wire coming from the radio/amp) should attach to the negative side of the battery. The RF ground (the 1" wide braided ground strap) should go from the frame of the radio/amp to the frame/chassis of the vehicle. Those ground straps should be as short as possible. You should also grind/sand the paint off the surfaces of the radio/amp/frame/chassis to which the straps mounts.

Well from posting the same question on several forums, I have about a 50/50 response. Half say frame, the other say battery. I have tried both and seem to have better results with it grounded to the frame. The radios are separately grounded also. Thanks for the opinions.
