yeah, what's wrong with a purple truck?
I also say it's attorney time. No copy of what you signed, coerced into signing, etc....
Just signed a 5 year scam lease with Trans Am

If I'm signing something that makes me responsible in any way, shape, or form for the objects in the contract, I'm getting a copy at the time they get my signature, come hell or high water. None of this "we'll mail it to you" crapola. That is just pure unethical and (result of bodily function, plus "ty") conduct on their part, and a sad bit of naivete' on your part.
For the love of God, in your future business dealings, never sign without first reading and understanding every word in the contract, and secondly, getting a copy immediately.
I wish you the very best of luck. -
you know...without a contract in hand, how can you prove your leasing that truck??
you also have to have that contract for tax purposes...they're charging you for expenses you cant prove you're LEGALLY required to pay for...
Call an attorney immediately & take legal action on them! -
I was listening to something on NPR last night about "human trafficking" - slavery. What they said about an Indonesian fisherman's situation on a Korean fishing boat is exactly the same as the OPs situation.
When they coerce you to stay in any sort of labor deal ($10,000 owed if you leave), don't provide you money or food, yet require you to work - is the definition of slavery these days.scottied67 and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
Get another job and turn that thing in. You need to support your family. Case closed.
sevenmph Thanks this. -
We had a quick Leasing presentation today. I'm sure it's not this simple, but the leasing girl said you could walk away from a lease with 14 days notice. We didn't really delve into it, but it was said today by a girl in Olathe.
Take it for what it's worth. -
The OP probably would of had a better chance on the Korean fishing boat, than with Trans Am, lol.

DON'T TAKE THEIR WORD!!....if it's not in writing..then...its not happening.

Oh I know, I have too much experience in sales to take anything at face value. I do appreciate the advice though.

You can "walk away" from any legal contract. Just look around at all the foreclosed properties in any neighborhood in the US. However, there are negative consequences to any of this. You are legally bound by this contract and I will wager that trans am will sue you and/or place you in collections to extract money from you if you default on this "fleece." You do need to consult a good contract attorney that can give you sound legal advice on what to do. Rest assured, it will cost you money to solve this issue.
I hope you have a good outcome brother.
