Running 5,000 miles in 6 days by yourself. Thank God for White Crosses. Going around every open scale because you are grossing 83,000 when some of the states were still 73,280 max legal gross weight. A bingo card from every broker you hauled for and a few you didn't. The good ole' days, how I miss them.

Bull sxxt 16 thousand in 2 weeks= 8 thousand a week. I've done a few 5 thousand mile weeks in my time but guarantee there wasn't anything left. We used to run L.A. from East Tennesee in 36hrs unload, reload and come back 4 to 5 hundred miles before laying down. I used to drive for Stiles & Witt out of Knoxville years ago we ran from K-town to the sticker patch (Phoenix) usually in 28 hrs or less, we gauranteed a 36 hr delivery but was always early, we'd do 2 of these one week and 1 1/2 the next. I could tell you hundreds of stories, but if you were there I wouldn't have to.

What states have a max of 73K again?

All interstates are 80K.....If I run a state and get cited for having say a 78K gross on an interstate highway that I pay road taxes on....I'm suing that state..... :biggrin_25510:

BTW....According to the Bridge Formula....A tractor pulling a Cali legal spread could technically gross 86K.....According to the Bridge Formula....

20 hour days for 2 weeks non stop 1200 min a DAY would be met with return loads before we got into CA to avoid their Scales and head right back to the yard. Relay there and head back west.
