Tell the SoBs that they can let you out of the lease or you can start running over every car in the wal-mart parking lot youre in. Mention that that would litterally be hundreds of multi-million dollar law suits against them.

Youll be out of the truck and on the way home in no time.

I was threatened by Mayflower Transit when I first started driving. I drove for them for 2 months, and lost $10,000 in that 2 months. I walked away. I just dropped the truck off, and went home. I got a job with a local company, and started making better money.

Then the letters started coming. They said I owed them $5,000 for the training I received. Since I did not work there for at least 2 years, I had to pay. I told them to blow it out their air-horn. After a while, the threatening letters stopped. I have never had an issue with them since.

    Just remember this:

If you threaten 100 people to pay up, and only 35 of them do, you still made money. The other 65 that ignored you are not worth the effort of going after. If you are living in a big house, with a fancy car, maybe you have something to lose. At the time, I was renting an apartment, and driving a $300 car. I told them if they wanted their money, to come get it. They never came. I guess I was more trouble to take to court than I was worth.

Don't let some threat keep you from leaving. That is how they keep their trucks moving.

Not the first person who does it, and I feel empathy for the guy but...

    YOUGOTABEKIDDING!!!!!

why do people sign 80k or more of lease at a business they know nothing about in a company they know even less about -- and WHY WOULD THEY NOT TAKE A COPY OF THE CONTRACT FIRST TO A LAWYER??????!!!!!!

ok, trying to offer constructive criticism:

I suspect you could go to a legal aid society in the city/state you are in and check out predatory lending practices -- not giving you the contract to review is a BIG NO - NO. Also, there is such as a thing as a verbal contract, so if you can somewhat PROVE that the lease was CONTINGENT on you getting an increase on an average weekly miles... then they MAY be breaching their contract. To PROVE this, you may need witnesses... such as OTHER LESSEES who have been "told" the same...

Try the free... as in gratis... as in NO MONEY... lawyers FIRST... legal aid, consumer advocacy groups, etc...

By the way... lawyers DO NOT have a FREE first consultation as much as they say they do... they use that to sell you their services.

Also, lawyers are not your friends... for the most part -- and they like the rich guys a lot better... they are not your enemies, but the wealthy make keener, longer friendships -- I hope you understand.

I am just mentioning these last few tidbits so you don't start giving retainers and talking law suits should you encounter an esquire that is all too eager to "fight" for you -- for a fee, of course... (+ many, many, many, many co$t$).

    good luck -- be promt

    Gypsyguy,

GET A DIFFERENT JOB! WALK AWAY FROM THE LEASE!

    Just some friendly advice.

    Sincerely,
    Andre

Putting a pee bottle next to your head was a bit of a tip off. The tip was you probably shouldn't work there. I honestly would have walked away from the truck right there before I killed the guy.
And another thing: GET UP, GET OUT OF THE TRUCK AND PEE IN THE GRASS! NO PEE BOTTLES PEOPLE! PEE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!
And really, I mean, how many threads do we have to read about TransAm screwing people?
Newbies, please don't work for these people!
They are not bottom of the barrel coolie carriers.
THEY ARE ORGANIZED CRIME! And it's not as cool as what you see in the Sopranos.

Oh yes..... It's much better to be registered as a sex offender for the rest of your life, than it is to pee in a bottle.

I know that's what I'm shooting for this year.

PEE on side of road = Sex offender in some states, if caught.

Ok so now you are in the crap....so lets look forward....how do we keep this from happening again....I have a cure.....first take a 2lb sledge hammer in your left hand....assuming you write with your right hand.......lay your right hand (signing hand) on a table.....now start beating it with the sledge and yell NO MORE LEASES while mashing that dirty signing hand into the table.

This should solve any future issues with signing any more leases.

From knowing Johnny and Trudy Jacbos personally for a very long time I find it very unusal that Trans Am would just outright screw you over I'm not calling you dishonest rather what is the TRUE root of the problem? Go talk to Johnny personaly face to face be honest and listen to him He WILL help you. If the boss does'nt know the problem he can't fix it, it is up to you to work with him to find the solution Best of luck to you

I would have to question the integrity of the owners of a company who ALLOW the newly CDL'd drivers to lease a truck. If the license isn't even cold from printing yet, there should be a ban on leasing...there are minimum requirements that SHOULD be met before a company allows things to go that far...Yep, I know, a lot of
    Shoulda,
    Coulda,
    Woulda,
    DIDN'Ts there....
But I find it hard to believe that the owners of the company are so out of touch with what's going on that they don't know what's happening...maybe its true, but I find it hard to swallow.
