Sitting at a Walmart in Cheboygen MI. I think I'm starting to understand what IP means my working smarter not harder. During TNT I never had to worry about my 70 hour clock much. My trainer taught me to run as hard as I could and get a reset every weekend. So I'm learning that isn't the way it always has to be. I don't completely understand yet, but this will be my first weekend without a reset since I've been on my own. I'm really hoping Im not screwing myself.

You can't always run as "hard" as you can. In practice you need to run as hard as necessary between pickup and delivery appointments. Sometimes you can get there early and get unloaded (run hard) - other times there are hard and set appointments that a receiver won't do anything about - run as fast as necessary to make the appointments. Of course, on the company-side its about mileage production - lease side is different; maximizing your revenue while minimizing costs which is another way of saying run fewer miles.

Just keep the left door shut, and get 'r done.

Dropped trailer in Ft Worth, Headed to Austin for a load tomorrow am headed to Carlsbad CA. Back close to my home town of San Diego. Hope to be able to see my brother for a few.

Finally got trainee on truck. Ran a load to Loveland, CO, then deadheaded to Dodge City for a three stopper in TX: Tyler, Arlington and Dallas, all for tomorrow. About 15 mins from the 02 at a Diamond Shamrock.

 

Back on the road heading to Spokane

 

At Walmart in Escanaba MI, about 3 miles from my 02 which drops tomorrow morning, then down to Green Bay WI for my 90, 100 miles down the road.

 

Btw, i have a nice pot roast cooking in the crockpot right now, OMG smells so darn good, cant wait for dinner.
