I took my cdl road test on March 1st, picked up my cdl at the dmv the same day, and then arrived in little rock on March 3rd ready to begin orientation on the 4th. So to say I'm a rookie has got to be an understatement!
I chose to pursue employment with Maverick after many months of research. It seemed 99% of reviews on the company (whether from existing employees/ employees that have quit/ or employees that have been fired), were extremely positive. From my research, it seemed almost to good to believe! I couldn't find hardly a single other trucking company with more than one positive thing to be said about them lol.
My experience (while extremely limited) with Maverick has been awesome so far.. They run a very professional and tight ship. And I feel the training I've recieved so far has been top notch.
And as my research led me to believe before heading to Little Rock.... they tell you how it is.. no lies... no painting a pretty picture to obscure the real truth. Something that deserves respect in this industry. While attending cdl training Maverick and other recruiters visited our school. And Maverick was the only one that seemed to speak the real truth. The other recruiters only spoke of the great, and wonderful attributes of their company. Sounding like that slick used car salesman we've all had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting lol.
I'm in my third week on the road with my instructor.. And I can say upon completing orientation and securement training, you feel a real sense of pride becoming part of this company. So because of the industry leading pay for student drivers, the great training, and the pride that comes with bring part of a first class company... I say Maverick should be on the top of the list for students looking to get into the flatbed industry.
My $0.02
