It's not based on a set discount or percentage from pump price. We have a deal with Pilot/Flying J. They are setup on a cost plus basis. Fleets pay their "cost" plus a specified cent/gal rate.

I am driving a twin screw scania r620 currently, the company also operates r620 tag axles and the fuel difference averages over 1mpg in the tags favour, both tag axles have supersingle tyres on the rear , traction is excellent too, better than the twin screws on ice but not as good on soft ground

My father-in-law used to add ATF to his fuel and swore it kept the injectors and pump more efficient.
-
Still remember a few years back a carrier was being interviewed on one of the radio trucking shows. He flat out stated that they buy fuel from who plays ball with them & then directs the owner/lease operators to only their stations/chains.
The best offer I get with one truck is a whole $10 back on my rewards card with 500 gallon monthly purchase. Yeah, I am "winning" on that one.

Try NASTC's Fleet One Fule Program. It's the best I have found for my 1 truck fleet.
-
Do your companies not allow you to purchase through their programs with the truck stops? All of our owner operators have the choice to take part in our program w/ pilot/ fj to get our fleet pricing.
-
I am on my own in that regard with my own authority. Thanks Dice1, was always curious if NASTC was worth the $250 & if the fuel discounts actually benefited a single truck operation.

I bought 144.878 gallons of fuel at Petro in Kenly, NC on 3/27/12 with pump total $608.34 and my NASTC price billed to me was $588.45 for savings of $19.89 and on 3/29/12 I bought 126.685 gallons at the Charlotte Travel Plaza with pump price $544.62 and my NASTC price billed to me was $519.17 for savings of $25.45 that is a total savings of $45.34 for 2 fill ups in one week. That would be around $2,357.68 a year off of cash price published on pumps.
Well worth the $250 NASTC membership, the $50 one time fleet one card set up fee and the $2.25 per month card usage fee.
The discounts vary from as little as 6 cents a gallon to 30 cents a gallon off of cash price on the pump. -
Any of you guys following this thread that are interested in the EcoTaz fuel savings device, I have started to post my results there along with a note about the pump price and NASTC fuel price comparision.
Here is the link to that thread: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...stems-fuel-enhancers-does-52.html#post2525052 -
I have some MPG results from this months testing so far that some you should find very interesting reading.
