A search here will show that many are confused by logs and restarts.

How many orientations have you attended in your 1 year of driving?

 

experiences, yeah figured that.

 

No survey, just posts I've read on this forum. Now I'm sure that drivers are taught about filling them out, but do they truly understand how to utilize them in lieu of a 34 hr reset?

 

my experience utilizing them poorly is fast eaching me time management now if the shippers would realize i may not be much but i am all i think about i will be fine

I've never been a great backer but I found out that is very helpful to go very slowly when backing and stop if not sure which way to turn the wheel. Watch the end of the trailer, where it's going, (but don't neglect the front and the sides of your truck either), give it a little thought, which way to turn the wheel, don't turn too much, small movements, back slowly. If not sure, get out and look, as many times as it's necessary. Also, take it easy, don't sweat, don't listen to cb at truck stops as jerks may make stupid comments that may distract you.

 

So i shouldn't hit reverse, redline it and dump the clutch?

 

I still fill mine out even though it's largely irrelevant if you take a 34 every weekend. Part of being professional I guess.

 

Weekend? I remember those. We used to go to the "Great Valley" and watch the dinosaurs migrate. Those were the days! Now I just work 24/7

 

You don't remember weekends? Thats sopost to be the days off at the end of the week!
