Rumor has it Schneider will be hauling sand for Halliburton in South Texas?? I agree that these large otr companies will learn that the oilfield is a totally different animal than any otr, regional, or intermodal business. If I see a Schneider driver in the oilfield I will be sure to let him know what a fool he is for working for so little!?!

Outside of starting a union I think we all better get what we can out of this oil boom. Multinationals like schnider and halliburton, etc, are going to run most folks out of the game. They'll take a loss for a few years until they have devoured the American companies that were already in it; based on supply and demand and free markets.
These oilfields will be soon devoid of free and open market principles (like most sectors of our economy).
This time next year we will be lucky to get 15 bucks per hour straight time for our 90 weekly hours.

That's nowhere close to what I'm seeing. I talked to a frac supervisor for halliburton last week. He said the crew he's with is stacked three men deep. I asked him why that was and he said halliburton couldn't compete and were constantly getting underbid. The big companies like key and nabors can't even come close to competing in the are I'm in.

Hello all I am currently working in the ND oil patch and thinking about texas.

What are the pay rates for an owner operator with truck mounted NVE pumps and 170+ barrel aluminum trailers?

We have 3 trucks and 2 tankers. Just testing the waters... We have done it all frac, production (currently running), flowback, mud, cuttings, etc.

    Thanks very much

Stallion Production Services is closing the Decatur, Texas store and moving all operations to Oklahoma, in the Cherokee area. Right now i think the new yard will be around Alva, Ok. Not sure on that just yet. I just got back from Enid, Ok. and have been working for 5 days and off 2 and going back soon. This will be permanant full time work for anyone intrested. Starting pay isnt set just yet. The other companies are paying $18.50 and up right now. There is an add in the Decatur paper as well as in the Okla., papers wanting drivers. Phone # is 940-627-1755 to apply. This job is starting immediatly, as far as I know. The Decatur, Tx branch is going to close on the 12 of this month. This is a ground floor opertunity for a new driver or an old salt. All the details have not been worked out yet. The oil field is going to be booming in Okla. soon.

nve challenger 506 is a large vac pump which allows me to load with two 4"s in less than 10 mins(fresh).

ND the locals here try to charge the crap out of you ie. rent, fuel, etc. the line a kenworth is stupid. Shops are overpriced and booked up a month. The winters are bad but we didny have one this year.

Driving here isnt bad all the roads are straight with huge parts of the road missing and they weight by the axle which is a pita.

There is no where to go or do on your day off. The amount of rape and stabbings here makes it a no go for the gfriend to move out if we could find a house for less than 2500 a month.

There is no taco bell or places to stop and eat... just a few things

sounds like a sweet vac pump! is there much time lost unloading the water?

is your profit satisfactory or you are getting a bit tired of the quality of life up there?

for me personally it's hard to leave here with everything you could want conveniences etc. (jobs here suck though) the best weather.

i have someone encouraging me to go up to ND right now (cdldriver)and i am a bit hesitant due to all the reasons you just mentioned.
