I'm missing Mark's posts here. I'm assuming he is so involved in some serious learning that this has become a secondary issue for him. Or, if he has decided trucking is not for him I hope he returns to walk us through his decision making process. I know Marcus has inspired a lot of us wannabes, students and drivers with his detailed descriptions of his experiences in the industry. No matter what he is doing he should be proud of the work he has done for us all here on this forum!
sammycat, Saddlebutt, jeff1971 and 3 others Thank this. -
Every time I check back I am hoping the Mark has posted, hopefully his is just busy, running the roads. We have enjoyed his posts and look forward to his updates. Bottom line, hope he is well whatever it is he is doing...

In the short time I've been on this forum there have been dozens of guys who started out with a bang only to disappear from the board a short time later. I'm guessing most who left simply quit and didn't see any point in sharing their story no matter how grim it might have been.
Wedge Thanks this. -
Markus had mentioned wanting to go OTR,
I'm thinking if that took place, it is keeping him very busy.
He wasn't your typical disappearing act !!
I guess time will tell......... -
I would think that if he quit, he would have said something here. Just seemed like his style.
I hope he's ok. -
I hope that he is just busy cuz he is OTR and getting lots of miles or maybe can't get internet..........but it has been two weeks now and Mark was posting daily

I agree. Markus is not a quitter (that would be me). I am fairly sure if he him quit or something happened to him he would have manned-up and admitted it. I heard that Schneider trucking does not like its drivers talking about them, so I am wondering if they told him something like, "There is nothing bad in your posts, but we would rather you not post about us any more as it might encourage other more negative people to start posting." Well, that is my theory, the company told him to keep a lower profile. I wish him the best, and I often wish I was more like him, he was an inspiration for a lot of us older second career people.

I learned a lot from ORG and Markus. They have given me the courage to step up and do what I've wanted to do since I was a little kid. From climbing on my Uncles cabover gravel hauler when I was 3 to riding my bicycle and pretending I was the snowman clearing the road for the bandit, I've always loved big rigs. I enjoyed reading these threads and owe both those guys a cup of coffee. I hope someday I'll see them at a truckstop or catch them on the cb. Good luck guys and thank you.

I passed 15 SNI trucks today, most in PA, and didn't see anyone resembling Mark.

If he went OTR, he would have plenty of time to post.
We may have to accept the fact that he's decided that this career isn't for him. There's no shame in that. Only a small percentage of those who start out in this business keep at it for more than a year.docholaday, Saddlebutt and sammycat Thank this.
