this one from your picture would be apsolutly illegal because of clearance between two parts , here clearance is not good thing.....

there are hooks with suspension to make less shocks to reduce trailer eye wear and also hooks with pneumatic cylinder to push trailer backwards to reduce clearance i will try to find picture or video

we use "ringfeder" hooks ( ringfeder is actually brand there is rockinger and vgb of more famoust manufactures)

I hope you don't mean that truck/trailer are the same thing as doubles?!

    Two completely different things.

I used US type and EU type hitches. I'm sceptic about scany style, becouse of dirty roads here.

US hitch is noisy. Really noise, cluncks every time you step on gas ore brake!

EU style are the best, easy to install on any truck, we used to install them on US trucktors with cross member.

Yeah I can see that. How often does the pin wear out?

The pins last about as long as a fifth wheel.
Just like with a fifth wheel a lot depends on how you take care of them and the state of the corresponding equipment you are mated with.
Just basically a bit of grease now and then and keep excessive dirt out.
A few years at least and then replace the wear parts with a kit.

as king q already wrote it is not problem

part which is designed to be exchangeable is ring inside of trailer eye you can see it in video about ringfeder in my post on 2nd page

also hook is easier to replace than to repair because it is lot of work those kit often cost with labor more than new hook

hook can last for 10+years without any problems

even in toughest jobs with overloads bad roads mountain region and aggressive driver it can last 15years

European hitches appeared here in 80-s, but classical US hitch is in use here too.
