.30 cpm?? That should be illegal.

 

Will they do that, even if I don't pay dues?

 

Never heard any complaints from their drivers here in Los Angeles. I don't know where "The Buckeye" is though. The company can do what they want so long as it does not violate the contract. It's called management rights. If they are violating the contract, shame on the workers and the stewards for not standing up!

I have never had a problem contacting or meeting with my business agent and I am not even a steward. You shouldn't either.

 

The Buckhole eerrrr I mean Buckeye is Ohio.

 

At the Fontana terminal there are quite a few drivers sitting at home nightly while contractors take freight out on schedules. Its the same at most terminals across the country. Grievences are either denied or in the arbitration process.

 

Don't forget that Western Express includes perdiem as part of the .30 cents a mile they pay.

The trucks and equipment are not dangerous, they're mostly fairly new...it's the drivers they hire.

They hire anybody who will show up with a CDL.

 

Now if they are filing grievances, that tells me there IS something in the contract that prohibits the company from doing what you said they are doing. It doesn't make sense to me?

 

So it's not just me who has been witnessing the western express drivers driving like crackheads

 

That makes two of us.
