Found out I lost my weekly gig today. Been going strong for over a month and a half though. I guess the broker gave it back as we needed more money for the run and the dairy wouldn't pay it. We will see how this all pans out with a legal beagle company. LOL. At any rate back to the spot market again. Its not so bad rates are better but all the dang phone calls you have to make. ugh. Well hopefully either the dairy calls me to haul direct or the broker calls and states we got some more money. Either way "It is what it is". Still hard losing your first dedicated gig though.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully the dairy calls you to go direct.

Your not the only one. From what i've seen in the last few weeks companys and o/os are running for less and less. I lost some loads and a freind of mines company just lost 4 accounts to being under bid. Shippers do not have to pay more because these idiots keep going lower and lower. Something else will come up, and most likely better,it allways does.

Put it this way. The dairy got to get to market some how. So sooner or later someone is got to pick up the milk or let it go sour.

it always starts this way. the economy slows and all these companies start to panic and chop rates to get their foot in the door. had one company cut my rate the other day by $2600 2 days later the customer called and said the truck never showed up, could i help, sure but i had to increase my rate a little. 2 ways to truck, haul all the cheap freight you can and just get by. or give great service for a fair price and make a good living. i choose the latter.:biggrin_25525: the customer will come back around.

When God closes a door; he opens a window. Maybe that window leads to that gig paying $10/mile! :biggrin_25525:
