Called after I filled out the application and spoke with a recruiter named Don, seemed like a good straight forward guy, but im sure they all sound like that at first lol

He said my app is fine and everything looks clear, and he said I can head to orientation on May 29th. He's also going to send me the study guide for the CDL Permit test so I can go get that done before i head out to orientation...

I'm pretty excited to finally get this going

If you go to a dmv in your area, they should be able to supply you with a study book...and this site has a sample test you can take...over and over and over, if you want. Just hit the 'CDL tests' link.

Most states now have all of their driver's manuals on-line in PDF format. Some states are no longer publishing hard copy. Oklahoma is one of the latter.

    da1 Thanks this.

Yeah I picked up the California book but it is about 250 pages. So he said he's going to send me just the info I need to study

Awesome thanks guys I'll check it out, I took 4 practice tests already and the most I missed was 2 out of 20 so hopefully I'll do fine. Going to go look into taking the dot physical tomorrow.

Anyone have an idea on how I'll get to Missouri? Are they going to stick me on the greyhound or can I fly?

It was the grey dog when I went in 2007.. They said I could fly if I wanted, but they would only reimburse me the cost of a bus ticket (i.e. plane ticket $200, bus ticket $50, I pay $200 out of pocket then they would give me $50, so essentially costing me $150).

Good choice on Prime. They are a good company, IMO. Did the recruiter say that you had to get your own DOT physical? When I went I had absolutely nothing done -- they did DOT physical and everything else there in Springfield. Also, you'll probably be getting a Missouri CDL Permit then License (unless that has changed as well), so you will likely want to study the Missouri driver's manual as opposed to your current state's. Not much different, but each state has it's own quirks.

    Good luck to you!

He told me to get my permit in California before I could head to the orientation and here in California before you can take your permit test you have to get a dot physical, I'm going to attempt to go to DMV tomorrow though to double check
