I worked for ccc for almost 6yrs..i own everything in there co store..helped get there FB page off the ground..avg hometime 27 days a year..the last 2 yrs i spent more time fixing trailers then driving...then i sent a msg 6/12/2011 brother has 3 days to live and got and i quote and still possess the msg "Sorry to hear this but u need to get trlr fixed first" (my brother died 4hrs later) right now i am embroided in a bitter lawsuit..i was hurt on the job and required surgery. (comp denied).i got 2 msgs over this #1 you have 10mins to drop that trlr and park that truck and find your own way to the hospital" and #2 "let us know when truck empty" i was mortified to say the least..like so many others i did not expect that! After i filled out interogatories for they're lawyers my facebook acct was hacked..they requested info on my KIDS..after 7mths of trying to save my home and pickup and friends helped me with food i am back at work w/an o/o and love it so im not bitter but i am concerned for my friends who work there..things like ARE YOU STUPID OR WHAT and WHAT PART OF NO DONT YOU UNDERSTAND were said to me.i rarely got home ontime and the disrespect was something i had never experienced before and hope to never experience again..i THOUGHT crete was different but i was wrong..the message about my brother is framed on my wall so when my friends come to the house (mostly truck drivers) in case they had any ideas they now know...the ### kissing to get miles is embarrassing to watch!!..i recieved no "Get well" phone calls etc...i do not regret going to crete however i do regret staying..until i came to where i am i didnt know how much money i could make out here and the respect is 5 star here..i never made good money there but it was a JOB so i was grateful..knowing what i know now i'd of stayed at FFE where i made 12K more

I heard Crete is a real good company but what they said to you concerning your brother does not surprise me one bit.Companies do not care about drivers families. It's all about them and looking good for the company.Im very sorry about your loss.Glad you're at a much better respectful company.

Sounds like you was an excellent worker at Crete and very dedicated, always there for them. Then when you needed a favor they turned their backs on you, that's typical.

I hope you get everything you can from them. I worked for a big company for 4 years and did a good, safe job. I was home on weekend and had my kids. Ex called Sunday to say her and hubby broke down on way back home 130 miles away. I called weekend dispatch, and told them. They said ok, cause I was not under load. Monday 830am get a call from my dispatcher saying "find somebody to watch your kids, and call me when your ready to roll, I'll give you two hours". Called her back two hours later and said instead of finding somebody to watch the kids, they watched me clean out the truck.
My situation was not as dyer as yours, but the point is, with big companies your longevity with them means NOTHING. Funny thing is, I'm grateful she pushed me out the door.
I wish you the best and am sorry for your loss. Try to stay positive and be safe.

This is so typical of OTR companies, most especially the large ones. Local is so much better though currently I am OTR with a small company. I hope to be off the road within a few months and will never go OTR ever again! Life is too short and those OTR companies only give a #### about profiting off of you as you live your "no life" driving and living in a truck.

Trust me.. she isn't lying at all. I watched her on facebook, I think even the guy doing the Facebook acknowledged her for getting them up to 10,000 likes or something. That's before crete decided to change their Facebook to where you can't post any topics, just them. I've said it before and ill say it again.. I don't even know if there is a fair or even half decent otr company with more than a few hundred trucks. Too bad i work where the op works.. looks like I know what I have to look forward too when my wife gives birth to our first child.
