It does'nt matter if it's a large or small trucking company, they're pretty much all the same when it comes to showing compassion for the drivers.Making money comes first. One lady driver got hit and died in a trk stop parking lot,the company said this is a shame this had to happen but we have to get that trk.I read that in a truckers magazine.Remember few yrs ago that crete drivers killed those kids?Heard many stories about that,I wonder if Crete even sent the family a card with their deepest apologies,I doubt it.

Oh yeah, I remember. I had one driver tell me they crete sent roses to his wife while she was in the hospital, sends him a birthday,Christmas card every year.. that's what sealed the deal for me.. I've worked 2 thanksgivings now and haven't gotten so much of a thank you or happy thanksgiving.. although a driver told me as long as I get a paycheck, thats cretes thanks for working...

Just curious: When you notified them of your emergency, and they replied by telling you to fix the trailer first...what did you do? Did you go up the chain? Try someone else?

Not defending Crete here. Just curious. I myself would have said F the trailer...I'm doing what I have to do, the job be ######. I work for Crete now, and if I'm ever in a situation that requires my immediate attention, that's how it will be.

I wish you the very best, and I too am very sorry to hear of your brothers passing. Good luck.

I know how you feel I worked for a big company. And I got hurt on the job and I called them they told me to seek my on medical treatment. They were not responsiable. So I went to the doctor had a severe injury. Then they told me if I filed a workers comp claim they would fire me. And I filed it they fired me. So now I cannot drive no more and had to hire a lawyer. Sorry about your brother. TAke care and be safe.

I recall working for Crete back in 09, Western Regional, and was in Missouri the week before Christmas, was told they were working on getting me home to Arizona for Christmas..made it all the way to Lincoln Nebraska and spent Christmas Eve, Day and the following day snowed in. Then was sent back out to Missouri and Tennessee. They have one hell of a big Western Region!!!

Tonn Ostergard is nothing but a pile of garbage...

I predict Crete will be gone within 5 yrs due to his gross inability to operate a company...he's running Crete into the ground...

This is sad but true. I worked for a small company, ran illegal etc to get them going. Once they got up to 50 trucks and started making money it was the kiss of death for the original 10 that got them going. Its just a way of doing business in this industry.

When my Mom was near the end I let my terminal manager know the situation. I just wanted to keep him in the loop when the inevitable happened. In Jan of 09 it did. I was in Paris TX and just got offered a load out to TN. It was freezing rain coming down in TX and it was to get worse as it crossed the country. Remember all those trees that came down in VA and KY? That was the storm. Anyway, I had to get back to NJ but didn't think I would get there in the storm and even with something preplanned I was not positive I would make it. I called my terminal manager ( Bill Houck) and he suggested I take the truck to Wilmer and fly out of DFW. I didn't have any money for this but the LORD was on my side that week. My Best friend gave me his frequent flyer miles for a round trip ticket into Newark airport and picked me up the next day. I can't thank my friend and my terminal manager enough for being there when I needed someone the most.
