worked in home remodeling construction, concrete work, heavy road construction equipment operator, track vehicle mechanic in the army,
Other background includes a degree in Land survey/civil engineering tech and also in Industrial Management.
Was self-employed for 2 1/2 years as a manufacturing consultant writing quality control manuals. That went away when I deployed too many times with the army guard.
Worked for 4 years as a process engineering tech figuring out how to squeeze the most production out of a couple different work centers. Lots of times reviewing cost analysis and making hard decisions on savings millions of bucks.
Fell for the "gotta have a college degree" line and took it hook line and sinker.
The grass is not always greener. There's a lot of other suckers out there fighting for your same position willing to do it for less money than you are.TamedCynic and chalupa Thank this. -
I worked on the drilling rigs in the oilfield. A bit of an accident and that was the end to that. Driving truck was the next logical thing for me.

ran commercial fishing boats all my life until goverment regulation and family issues found it no longer feasible to continue. I previously owned and ran trucks with the boats late 70's and early eighties. So now I have moved to a buisness full of goverment regulation and yup there is still family issues but it is very peaceful here in the truck until i bump a dock. Ineed some coast to coast runs and no cell phone
