If you've been peeged as a CHEAP TRUCK that's your problem . But if you see a 1.30 rate and you want the lane you got to do some good old fashioned negotiating . If they want to move it they will pay you to move it . But if your going to move it for 1.30 they are not gonna throw you more money for charity ...

They post low in hopes someone bites on it ..

Bottom line is this ... If the freight don't move the broker don't get paid so you got to put your salesman hat on to get the rate up

Didn't have the time to talk to this guy much today but he was calling looking for help in find better paying freight. He had a direct load out of his own town (1.3 DH from where he parked). Then he reloaded with 112 DH and then 47 DH to pick-up is load from direct account.

But he had a reload 2 miles from delivery that delivered to his direct account. But wouldn't do it because it was $.10 under hid 'minimum".

But the "better" paying return load paid ...........$.35 under his minimum once you added in DH.

So my abrupt answer was "You have already found it but too blind to see it".

Hold steering wheel, Bang head, Repeat.

I was just wondering, I am getting over $2.00 mile in the mid-atlantic, and until that changes, I am having my guys stay there lol.

I was wondering if the rate indexes were worth the monthly fee and how accurate the information was. I am finding the info on getloaded is about worthless.

Just my 2 cents worth. Robinson pays good out of the Bowling Green area. Have hauled some dry loads out of there on our reefer at $2+. RWI seems to have a lot of freight in and out of Kentucky but mainly Louisville area. May want to make contact with them.

I usually get 2.40-2.60 leaving chicago. 1.40-1.75 coming straight back. Call it cheap but I'm making money and home every week. multiple times.
