It is also happening in as little as 3 months of absence to some drivers.
They feel that a driver "forgot" things.???
so yeah, if a driver has more than 20 years.?? He CAN BE TOLD to go back to school. But at that many years of experience, he should be able to find a job. It is at many times, the larger companies that demand he go back to school.
This ought to be done to the 4 wheelers that have been away from driving for a few weeks due to an illness or a vacation overseas.
Wanna see how fast that WON'T HAPPEN??? -
Some 4wheelers should have a refresher course during their lunch break cause they can't drive on the way to work nor can they drive on the way home. Pick a lane dummy lol
Gizmo_Man Thanks this. -
Some will work with you. My company just makes you go out on an evaluation trip with another driver for a week or two in that situation.

I had a 17 year gap and found a company to hire me without goig back to school.
-
For the most part, the standard is three years on OTR history and experience before having to go though a refresher course.
-
only because as drivers our habit is to be non-confrontational on it and just accept it.
Enough of us need to start as individuals to tell operators, insurance and companies to pound sand before things will start to improve.
In the meantime, what you earn/working conditions as a driver is an individual success.
If you find trashy trucks and poor pay, you will complain, piss and moan that trucking sucks.
The same goes if you feel you deserve decent pay and nice trucks, that's all you will accept. -
Getting confrontational. That's a good way to get escorted off of the property by security - real quick.
-
getting confrontational can be as simple as tell the interviewer that his pay sucks and walk out.
Think about your actions. It's not all about violence.
