Hello everyone! Greetings from Houston, Texas...
My goal is to make a six-figure income in less than two years and I understand that the most important factors are: 1) Working over-time....and.....2) Get a job in one of the oil booming towns of North Dakota and West Texas.
With all that in mind, what's the most efficient way to get a truck driving job that pays a six-figure income??
Is it possible, as a newbie, to get an oil field job a few weeks after finishing truck driving school (and passing all the exams)?? I wouldn't mind getting paid as a newbie in the beginning, of course...
How much should I expect to get paid in my greenie period in the oil field?? I'm aware that the best paying jobs can be found in booming towns (correct me if I'm wrong)...
And finally, are regular truck driving schools better than the programs offered at the community college?? (It's 2 semesters long - 286 hrs).
Thanks!
Suggest me a plan to become a trucker who makes a six-figure income!

Only a 6 figure income? Why not shoot for a 7 figure income like I'm making at Werner*? I'm home every weekend, too.
*Does not work at Werner. Just an easy name to pick on.Mommas_money_maker Thanks this. -
No problem..... as long as you don't mind the first 3 figures being zeros.

Start with a seven-figure income.
Or eight.
Nine is good too.FLATBED Thanks this. -
Houston.....we have a problem. (Sorry, couldn't resist).

I'm assuming the six figures include the ones after the decimal point.

If you want to make six figures, no problem. just become an owner operator. Of course, the only drawback is you will use the first five figures for expenses.

Here's an example of someone who wasn't necessarily driving trucks for a living but got a job that offered him $120,000 yearly..
Kris and Keith Borgeson, in their mid-50s, arrived from Minnesota a year ago after their retail fireplace business collapsed and mortgage payments loomed. We were barely surviving, Kris says. Within 24 hours, she had a sales job at the Ford dealership. Keith upgraded his commercial drivers license and landed a job driving a fuel truck for an oil company for $120,000 a year a position he found online.
