I have a list of a few companies I am getting ready to call and talk with about driving for them. Do I need to have all the questions I want to ask them ready when I call? I am talking about questions like "Do you allow inverters" or "Where are most of the freight lanes" etc etc
I would rather call, get a recruiter's email, and then email a list over or be able to ask questions as they come up.
What is the general process with most companies?

I visited the RoadMasters school here in Salt Lake and they gave me a sheet of paper with a whole bunch of sample questions as well as phone numbers of several of the trucking companies around here.
If there is a RoadMasters school close to where you are perhaps they might have something similiar -
I did that when I was looking to switch companies. This is what worked for me...... I made a list of questions (and it was lengthy), and then I arranged them by what was most important to me. You will find some recruiters get irratated by your list. When I felt the recruiter was getting short, I cut it off. At least I got my most important questions answered. And honestly some seemed bothered right away. Those I hung up on. Hope this helps.

In a perfect world, you could ask boo-coo questions and your friendly recruiter would answer them. However, many times, they are hurried and just don't have the time to spend, especially, if you say thanks for the info and hang up. Here's the deal, plain and simple. You're looking, they're wanting. You call, they answer. They ask, you answer. All research should be done prior, if possible, however, it's not always available, so, since you know the basics already, then just ask a select few questions, not a huge laundry list like you're interviewing him. Questions like, "are the trucks governed" or, "how often will I get home" are not really important.
Cooper09 Thanks this. -
@Allow Me.
I seldom disagree with you, but I do on this point. You ARE interviewing the company, and he/she represent that company. Now days the interviewing process has become a two way street. If you don't want to be a job hopper, it is important to find the right company. -
I emailed my recruiter a list of 47 questions. She was happy to answer every one of them. I used email because they can take their time finding the answers if its not something off the top of their heads. Of course I only emailed one company, applied to one company, and work for said company lol

When you do find an outfit to work for go back to the ones you decided not to go with call them with silly question. Like do your trucks come with floor mats? Ans with all the money I will potentially make can I put chicken lights on your trucks. Just for ##### and giggles
