Can anyone tell me if this outfit in Missouri is honest with their lease purchase program? Do they treat you with respect or are they just trying to make a quick buck from the driver? I would appreciate some insight. Thanks alot.

L/P is the biggest scam in the trucking industry. There is no such thing as an honest L/P. Run away very quickly. Don't fall victim to this crime driver.

Just go to the BAD TRUCKING CO section look at

    PRIME aka CRIME

Look at those expenses and see if a LP makes sence ? It don't

Save your money 2-5k down buy a good starter truck for 15-20k payment around 500-600 monthly
Have some reserves to get started in the bank

    TDriver4Life Thanks this.

O and S had a good L/P program when I was there. I made money put heres the catch. THEY DONT WANT YOU TO HAVE THE TRUCK!! Yes they will give you the miles for the 1st 2 years of your lease and then like when I got down to a few months to pay the truck off, my mile went down from 3,000 to 1500-2000 a week. I got behind on truck payments and my truck broke down and they refused to fix it. They wanted me to lease a newer truck for 6 years. Now it sucks they because they have the electronic logs and they watch every move you make.

just quit them! you can't make any money with them, and you will pay them to work for them!! no benefits, crappy miles, leave you sit, then take the little money you make to "pay your truck". don't do it!!:biggrin_25516:

I'd suggest first paying off any bills that you may have. Once you have zero debt, then start putting money aside to BUY a truck, not lease a truck.

If you're single and don't have a mortgage then with zero debt you should be able to put a couple thousand dollars in the back each month. Do that for 18 months and you can pay cash for a decent truck and have some extra money set aside for repairs, fuel, etc.

I see, in the Trucking Paper, trucks available for $25k all the time. Buy something like that, run that one for a couple years, all the while saving back more money, then trade that first truck in and add some more cash to the deal and buy a $40k truck - with cash again. Run that one for a few years and do it again. All the while you have no payments.

As the others have said, I'd stay away from ANY lease purchase plan.
