Well it was another week of wash rinse and repeat. Went back and forth between granite city Illinois and East Chicago Indiana. Friday loaded out of Gary for Greenberg Indiana finally get to go somewhere else. All in all a good week 2500 miles.

Have a great weekend, drive safe and enjoy the ride.

PS just have to love the fuel bonus $600 take home.

Thanks for your posts. I like what I'm hearing. I will be there on 4/29. I still go over my decision and comparing my top three. It always comes down to maverick. I told my wife that's all good. No more comparisons. Maverick is where I'm going. Hope to meet everyone at some point. Hopefully see ya'll later.

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

To ALL the newbies that are either at the Rock or getting ready to go to the Rock. Pay really close attention in the load securement class. You will not learn how to secure every kind of load that you could get. I've gotten some that I've had to either call the oh s*** line, or sit there & look @ the load & think about it. I had one this past Wednesday of a 40' stack of flat steel & 8 stacks of 20' flat, I-beam & a strange looking angle. But I got it done. Including tarping. So myself & other drivers can tell you that you won't learn everything in class. Just don't quit on yourself. It will be worth it. That I can promise.

My week began real ducky. I left the yard Monday morning headed for Hope to get a load of particle board. Before I made it to the Saline / Pulaski county line all kinds of lights began coming on. I had to turn around and head back to the yard then to Freightliner where I spent 2 hrs getting a new nozzle for the DEF fluid injector.

While on my way back to the yard I got a call from the nurse at Heart Clinic Arkansas. I had done a phone check with my pacemaker that morning and it seems the battery is going bad. They just can't replace the battery, the whole pacemaker gets changed out this next Friday. It's an out patient procedure so I only need to be off that day.

Then I got dispatched to Certainteed in Little Rock, to go to Oxford NC. By the time I got loaded, strapped and tarped it was late and I was stressed and tired. I didn't bother going home. I slept at the yard. Tuesday morning I headed for NC. From Oxford I went to Charlotte and picked up a load I took to Paragould AR. From there to Nucor in Memphis to get a load to Danville IL. So I wasn't able to go home this weekend. There are two of us here at the Pilot / Road Ranger in Champaign getting our restarts and they don't have laundry facilities.

Boy that's the truth. In all my years of flatbed every once in while I still get a good head scratcher. But common sense rules the day. To bad common sense isn't that common anymore. LOL
