Bad coax? Antenna tuned? start there
-
What are readings on ch 40 and ch 1?
-
Thanks for the comeback,...the Coax is new out of the package but i will have someone check it out..it seems ok....I have tried turning the tip of the antenna up/down a little at a time and nothing makes a difference....I will have the coax checked out thanks again.
-
the readings for 20, 1, and 40 were all off the scale to the right side....
-
Has to be the coax then if new coax checks out may defective antenna. But like jumper said go buy a meter dont trust radio never accurate. Meter around $20 at truckstop or less
-
ok thanks for the help, I'll get a meter and have the coax checked also...
-
Might want to think about a Francis antenna also...pre-tuned would narrow error margin.
-
Make sure the antenna stud is not grounded
-
Oh do you have a bedliner in the truck if you do you might have to mount it on the roof
