I am wondering how many have had to pay for their mvr and been told they would be reimbursed...and then not been...the new driver screw job will be "sign this so if you don't work out, I can charge you back for your background check and rest of costs I incur"., just sign here....on a blank form...
Yep, I'll get right on that one...just like the reimbursement will go out in a couple of days....

Seeing as how this person is reffering to me in this post I feel the need to add the other side of the story. The particular form they are reffering to was not actually intended to be signed by them it was simply in the batch and intended for another driver whom this exact thing had already been discussed and agreed upon. Had they called me (considering I told them my phone is ALWAYS on) I would have explained this, instead they chose to write "REFUSED TO SIGN" in giant letters across the form. Due to the way this was handled I foresaw many issues with this potential employee (and it appears I was correct). The MVR reimburesment ($12) has been sent out as agreed upon along with an extra $10 for the gas that was spent to meet with me. Neither of these things was required of me however I chose to do what I thought was right. The check is issued by my bank and was sent in to be processed along with my other payroll and is simply going through processing, at this point the check will probably arrive either in a day or two (around 4/16/2012) hopefully making this person realize how impatient and unprofessional they are. Judging by the fact that this post was made a mere 7 days or so after I decided not to hire this person shows a severe lack of patience and understanding of the business world. Considering the fact that MOST business pay thier bills on a monthly basis I would count myself lucky to recieve it in half that time. As for anyone that would like to take the position it is still open and you may feel free to contact me anytime via PM to discuss the position further. On a side note my other driver does not seem to have any issues with the way I choose to operate my business and in fact seems rather happy with his employment.

Suffice to say your youth and inexperience will change with age. Your phone is not always on, it is on when you are up and moving...which is your option, but don't say it's always on when it isn't. You merely had to mention the form or it's existence when you said you were sending the paperwork instead of sending a blank form to be signed and expecting a signature.then saying once you got it you were going to waive it for him anyway..so why was it sent when your pages were sent 1 at a time and not in a file or group. Had it been mentioned (as you must have done with your other driver) or even filled in it would not have been such an issue. Not every prospective employer/employee is a good match, obviously the case here. As far as the check...it's still not here, and supposedly your bank sent it out a week ago last Friday. You are a nice and personable guy John and hopefully you will be a good guy to work for. The ones that aren't honest and fair are the reason that drivers are so leery and have such a bad taste in their mouths....wish you the best.

All this over a measly $12. -
I always attach a MVR along with a copy of my medical certificate to each application I put in. I also get a MVR every year along with my FICO score and credit history. I could care less if they pay me back for it but if they do....I call it free lunch.
But really if this little paper work snafu has got you this worked up, well lets just say good luck with your driving career. -
I did put the focus on the wrong portion of the issue and I apologize. The main issue was being asked to sign a form that was blank that would authorize an employer to deduct unspecified amounts from your check. I don't believe it is unreasonable to not sign such a form, after attempting to call him, it was decided to write refused on the form. We have also sent MVR with applications, didn't ask to be reimbursed, and didn't ask to be this time. If someone tells me they are going to do something, I would assume they intend on doing it.

Well for one thing I would never sign a blank slip for deductions, that is just stupid and in most states illegal and specific on what can or will be deducted.
I have always provided my own current MVR out of pocket, any company can have the insurance carrier pull your record and some insurance companies will do it for free for the client.
I do not blame anyone for refusing to authorize unspecified deductions from my wages, common sense and experience has shown that if it is not specific they can screw your paycheck up and that will never happen ever again.MNdriver Thanks this.
