Im looking at buying a rig with a rebuilt 3406B, and the guy that has it put on a C16 turbo. The exhaust housing on this thing is HUGE!! Is the c16 a decent turbo to run with this setup? 3406B 15speed "deep reduction" and 3.42 rears. The guy said it cleared up any smoke, but it just looks like its a giant laggy pig to me... does anyone have any specs on this thing?
Im no stranger to diesel, I have learned alot over the past years in regards to diesel performance and turbo sizing so this should be fun! lol

I am surprised it was worth the cost without ATAAC setup to cool down the air going into the engine.

I'd contact Mr. Haney.

A bmodel should be an ataac engine.
-
air to air after cooler im assuming? Yes it has an intercooler...
-
what kinda boost are you makeing with that turbo
-
the first b models were water cooled.

Hey, don't knock it. Take it out and haul a few loads and see how it performs. If it keeps the egts cool and burns clean on a pull and spools up in a decent maner then what else can you ask for. I would think it would work really well on a 425 with the screws all the way out!
Ifim not mistaken those b models have a really big a/r on the exaust side stock , 1.60 ??
With the bigger comp wheel it would move more air then the stock one.
Run it!! -
thats what i was thinking swaan if it runs good without alot of smoke and the egt is cool run her
