Required documents in the cab

    Can anyone provide Me with a list of the required documents, I have to have with me in the cab?

    CDL, medical card, registration, IFTA, insurance, any required permits, bills of lading if loaded. Maybe there are more, but that's what DOT has asked from me so far.

    That depends too much on the state(s) you operate in and the type of license on the vehicle to answer in general terms.

    At a very basic minimum, no difference than in a car. Tractor (and trailer) registration (probably IRP), proof of insurance, and probably an IFTA agreement if there is an IFTA sticker on the side of the truck. Then if you haul beer, hazmat, and other non-typical freight, the documents required add up fast. Possibly an overweight permit if a gravel/sand hauler. An FMCSA guide book and possibly haz-mat guide. We need more info.

    Also you need your current DOT medical card
