Thanks for the info, EMT. I've been thinking about going to the oilfields in the Midland, Texas area. I'm actually supposed to start in a couple of weeks. They start at $18.00 an hour, just like you said. Supposedly, there is so much work that it is possible to make upwards of $85,000 a year. Not bad but, you're right; 18-22 hours a day to make this kind of money? Yikes! If its not too much trouble, would you mind going into a little more detail as to what an average day, hours, and conditions are really like? I am about to make a big decision here and I could use all the help that I can get! Thank you!

I know someone that drives for this Robbie Wood Company, he likes working for them.
As for the oil & gas field company the other person is talking about, That is the oil fields in Williston,ND. or anywhere in ND.
I got called to drive out there for the pipeline and told them NO, I worked 2008 & 2010 out there in ND. that was enough for me.
That 60 mph wind out there they call a breeze, I call it straight line wind...I was happier than heck when I got layed off the 15th of Nov.
I'd think twice about the job in Midland, TX. I have a friend that turn down the job offer there ,because you have to wear a fire suit and in that heat so close to the boarder, you are going to COOK, besides TX. is a right to work state and the wages SUCK..........Last edited by a moderator: Apr 29, 2012
