So chemster how's the week going so far?

 

I came back out on Monday and picked up a load of recycle in Louisville coming to Grand Prairie. I delivered that on Tuesday and got popped for a random drug test, so off to the clinic I went. Outbound called me Tuesday afternoon with three load offers for Wed morning. A Laredo, Kansas City, or Brooklyn NY. I chose the Laredo because I hadn't been down there since the late 90's when I drove for JB Hunt. Load was supposed to be ready at 0700 Wednesday morning. I woke up at 0400 and was wide awake so I called shipping hoping my load might be loaded and had good news! Load was loaded and ready to go. I hooked up and delivered at Walmart at 1000 today.
As I was doing my pretrip this am, I had a steer tire gauge at 90psi. Crap, I need to get this looked at, but didn't have time before I needed to be at walmart. I drove on over and got checked in. I gauged the tire again and it said 80 psi! Im losing air fast. I call Fleet net and they dispatch a tire guy out to change the tire. I'm sweating because Walmart is dragging their tails and I need to get out of the gate to get my tire changed before it goes completely flat. Luckily, I get out the gate 10 minutes before the tire guy shows up. He dismounts the tire and can't find any punctures. We both look on puzzled and then he pours soapy water on the valve stem and it bubbles! So, one new valve stem later, I have a nicely inflated steer tire.
Backhaul calls me and they have a load picking up in Laredo going back to Grand Prairie. I go over to pick it up and guess what... The load hasn't made it across the border yet. So... I'm camping out and waiting till the AM for it. It was supposed to be in Grand Prairie by 1100 Friday. I probably won't even be loaded by then. I sure hope I get detention.
I'll let you all know what happens tomorrow.

 

Well hope it gets better, can't really do anything about the unexpectables and the border always seems to screw things up. Be safe and hope it gets better in the am.

Made it to SLC this afternoon. Marathon is Saturday morning. Not expecting any race record from the wife. She just wants to finish.

Chemster make sure you ask broker about detention pay. If they say yes & give you a dollar amount make sure to call backhaul and let them know. Good luck.

I'm getting loaded now. The load has been rescheduled to deliver Monday at 11 am in Grand Prairie. I'm gonna try to drop it tonight at the yard and get an outbound for tomorrow.

 

Chemster, if load gets rescheduled to deliver on Monday, as soon as you get loaded, or start getting loaded, send request for "900 diff". As soon as the approval comes thru send in your outbound availability for Saturday. This should you get an outbound load sooner. Good luck.
