My boss is ordering a 2013 peterbilt glider to put together. It will have a flat top 48" bunk, drop visor, 270" wheelbase ,CAT 6nz, 18 speed, full fiberglass fenders, painted tanks, dura bright wheels, 24.5 tires. With that being said, what can he realistically get for the truck if the mechanic warranties the motor and trans for 1yr 100,000 miles.
2013 glider value ??

The 6NZ makes it very atractive to alot of O/Os. The truck is only worth what someone is willing to pay. I have a very close idea what Id pay but that isnt neccessarly what the next guy is willing to pay. Also you can buy an extended warantee beyond that 1 year 100,000 mi. Its meerly insurance and Cat will be more than willing to sell it.

With a 6nz and 48 bunk it will sell like hot cakes. My guess would be mid $100 on price. Anything pre dpf and older is selling for top money right now.

He should get a Cat dealer to build the engine outta frame. If he builds it with a platinum kit he can get a 4 year unlimited mileage warranty. JMO

Well, as a comparison, I have a 2013 Columbia glider on order with factory rebuilt 500 hp Series 60 pre-emission, factory rebuilt Eaton 18 speed, Meritor 14x aluminum housing axles with lockers, 70" mid roof XT sleeper. Final assembly and ready to work... $110,000. Engine and tranny warranties of 3 yr/300,000 (extended available), with standard FL warranty on body and chassis. 5yr/750,000 mile warranty on axles.
JDP Thanks this. -
If he have so much of money, then its a good deal i feel. I like the idea of cowcatcher of platinum kit.

One wonders why it wouldn't be rebuilt out of frame anyway since it is going into a glider. It will have to be out before it can be put in.

Hoover is building Pete's for $110K. I think and don't hold me to this, he is having Antrims build the motors. I think the one he had advertised was putting out 750hp...?
-
Not even remotely close. The glider is on order at Pocono Peterbilt, it's getting a fresh 6nz with a PDI kit.
-
Huh? I know two people who have ordered gliders from Hoovers (one guy ordered 2) and Antrims built the engines for all of them. It's not a requirement it's just who they recommend. Les isn't saying the glider your talking about is being done this way.
