taking this pricey load up to Fargo, ND.. I don't normally operate there.
Now there isn't much freight up there, and from what I see, most directions are getting $1.30-1.50 with exception to loads heading W and SW. I'd like to head towards the midwest, what's the most profitable move? deadhead to Minneapolis? I don't have much experience in these lanes, any info and suggestions would be much appreciated!

Van, Refer or Flat?

Check with elliot, valley express, S&S or some of the local logistics.
You've got GPK, Anderson windows, american crystal sugar. Just some of the things off the top of my head i have hauled out of there.
Never did have much good for rates.carwreck Thanks this. -

If you're pulling a flat then the northern part of MN will all be lumber loads and cheap. I'd just DH to Minneapolis and make more $$.
I always figure in my DH and add it to the rate of the load I'm hauling. You won't get me to ND/MT/WY for less than $3.50 to the truck.MNdriver, Mommas_money_maker and carwreck Thank this. -
Unfortunately we're doing dry van now, what are some good shippers out there? I won't haul anything less than $1.8/mile.. which I'm willing to do, since I'm taking $3.00/mile going up there.

I take it you are running your own authority???
You should be able to find something for $1.80 mile on a van but it may take a day or two to find it. If you don't want to sit just DH to Minneapolis and I'm sure you can find $2.50 out of there. In the end, the gross revenue will be about the same with a few hundered miles being empty which will help your MPG out.carwreck Thanks this. -
Yes I have my authority! my 2 year birthday is coming up soon!
I won't sit for two days, time is money, we will see on monday. I have a feeling I will deadhead monday to minneapolis then load tuesday.. any tips on some good shippers in minneapolis or fargo? -
Bayer is located in Shakoppee. They manufacture seed germinating equipment. I've hauled several loads out of there in the past for over $4 a mile but they all went to Miami. So maybe not a good plan cuz then u have to get out of Miami lol....
carwreck Thanks this. -
Excellent! do you have contact info for the sweet sugar? maybe GPK too if you don't mind.
I'd love it if I can get a light plastic load.. any info would make my life much easier, and would be much appreciated!
