I save up my time off and take it all at once. I make sure that whatever company I want to for has a policy that lets me do that. I look at it this way: if I take my time off every 3 weeks then dispatch has to work harder to get me a load going home. So if I stay out 10 or 12 weeks, I'm actually making it easier on the company because they don't have to work on getting me home all that often.

    Squirel Thanks this.

We rent and installed a cat door. If the property owner isn't happy with it when you decide to move, simply replace the outside door with a new one that doesn't have a hole in it. If you have a sliding door, then you can get a panel with a pet door that runs floor to ceiling, just close the door on it.

When I drove a company trk. I was lucky. I could work 6 months then take off a month and my trk. was there waiting for me.

Then they folded and went looking for new work. Most companies kept saying no you can't do that, so I looked for another. Found a company Yes you can do that, then when my time off was going up they changed their tune. That was fine as it was not working out well with them anyway. I allready was lining up an exit plan.
Most of the big companies want the revenue goal to be met on each trk.
That I beleive is why most have a 5 day mty. rule.

Hey Ex-Con Thanks! Your friend sounds like what Im goin to be doin. "Live" in truck and then vacation in Alaska to see my husband/ if hes still there lol.
Now the search for company that will let me do that. Im not worried about cleaning out truck either really. I do that here every season. Different truck, remote location, live in truck etc then clean it out when seasons over.
