DBL problems....Is anyone else having problems with finding MT trailers after dropping a load or is it my DBL? My DBL blames it on the planning dept..... I've had problems getting active loads withdrawn with no word from my DBL. I've arrived at locations and there wasn't a load there or it was picked up by another carrier(this happened 3 time in one week). Called my DBL and told to stay because there will be a load the next day and still no load....... Also sent to locations and there are not any MT trailers..... Told to drop an empty and pick up a relay and the relay is not at that location..... Does anyone else have any of these problems? Does your DBL not answer messages? Hang up on you? Forget to put your long-break dates on the calendar? Is it time to ask for a new DBL ? If so, how does one get a new DBL?
DBl or the planning department problems ?

Sounds like it's probably both.

I've had problems finding MT's too...
I've dropped off MT's only to have to wait 2 hrs to find another MT to replace the one I just dropped off...lol
Crazy stuff like that happens to me.
I start getting nervous now whenever I finish a load because it takes hours to get rolling again.
One time I was sitting in French Camp looking at over 50 MT's and was told to bob tail 20 miles away after hours of waiting...to pick up a MT.
It can be very frustrating at times.
My DBL is pretty responsive though. I have no complaints there. -
Its the planning department.
Under 'Source" dbls could 'assist' the area planners by going in and manually finding freight for drivers under certain circumstances. From what I gather now the DBLs are scrambling to keep up with approving our etas and nats and fixing load issues (ie no empty available, live load turned drop, etc) and don't have the option to find freight. The APMs are understaffed (and poorly trained on WF). Toss in a weekly 10 hour shut down of WF to compile updates and fixes to the software and you've got a reciepie for disaster. The way WF works changes the way in which APMs, DBLs, CSRs, and drivers interact with each other but nobody seems to have planned for it. -
As for MT's not a DBL issue. The MT hunt is a very aggravating problem. Handled by box planners who don't seem to know where there box is. Lately I've been told to pick up a trailer and even if the stars and planets align and I find it, when I start rolling they send a message saying the trailer I am hauling is not the correct one and they need the VIN or license plate number to verify I know what trailer I actually have. Is it bad when I am happy to see a live unload now because I know I keep the mt trailer afterwords.
Awesome Possum Thanks this. -
Its a problem with both. But workflow is a big issues there too. I had issues with DBL not answering msgs or phone calls. I had the OC manager's cell phone number for emergency, one day I got tired of trying to call all day and sit there with no empty or no load and text messaged him - got a call from DBL within 15 mins (I thought he was already off that day...
)
They had a good system before and decided to spend a #### load of $$$ and upgrade - well they can't go back now and here we are dealing with it...
BTW, so far I've seen one OC manager quit and about three dbl's... Under paid and under trained?
